She also informed about the meeting that WHO had before the holidays with Mr. Andon Cibisev, State secretary of the MoH, on which was made a decision for establishing mobile teams during the reintegration process of health services. The number of mobile teams will be specified according to the data from Macedonian Red Cross.

ICRC representative, Mr. John Gelissen informed about the visit of Municipallity of Slupcane and the meeting that he had with the member of the Council.

The impression from the meeting with the member of the Council is that this people has lack of information and understanding about the work of the International Organizations.

In the medical books the new born are not registered so they don’t have blue cards which are necessary for reception of drugs. Mr. John’s opinion is that is not very easy to distribute the drugs to the people where the real need is existing. Even the people who are having blue cards have problems with taking drugs from the pharmacy.

Dr. Profili agreed with this opinion and note that maybe the problem is because there are not enough agencies which are working on the field. This topic should be further

discussed and some solution should be found in order to establish better coordination on the field.

Dr. Profili informed that WHO in the moment is providing drugs through the pharmacies that are opened regarding emergency situation. WHO policy has always been under the work of MoH. The system of privatization is not going in addition with this kind of work.

Dr. Profili also informed that National Tasks Forces ever are organizing meeting on which they briefed about the situation on the field. It was decided NTF representative to be invited to participate WHO Health Coordination Meetings.

IRC has finished the Primary Health Care program for refugees, as this program was given to Macedonian Red Cross for the next year.

The ambulanta in Aracinovo was opened before the holidays.

Ambulanta in Kumanovo for IDP’s continues with its work. There is no ambulanta in Lipkovo, so people from this municipality are going in Kumanovo. The number of patients in Kumanovo is 70 a day. IRC mobile teams are providing all the medicines and everything that is necessary.

In Aracinovo cases with upper respiratory tract infections are registered.

IRC continues with health education of the population in Shuto Orizari. The advantage is that groups of man population started attending the education program.

American Refugee Committee is working with IDP’s host families in Tetovo, Kumanovo and Skopje. There are giving advises to the patients, medical care, explaining how to access health care and everything that is necessary.

ARC representative asked about the way on which vaccination will be done? Will be the mobile teams on the field included?

Dr. Profili answered that the vaccination can not be done on the field and that should be done within the legal facilities, in the nearest ambulantas. This process of vaccination is already organized and is within the health system in Macedonia.

Regarding to this question the representative of IOM added that maybe people should be just educated that they must take their vaccination and that it is free of charge.

ARC also informed about their project on reconstruction of ambulanta. A lot of development in Malina Mala connected with this issue.

IOM has started with the new project regarding TB. This project is only for IDP’s. Activities planned for TB survey should be discussed.

OCHA office has opened Informative Center which is offering information in order to coordinate the activities. OCHA representative briefed about the main points of work of this center and invite the representatives of the organizations to visit this center.

Italian Cooperation representative informed about the donation of Japan Government which is used for equipping Medical Centers in the territory of FYR of Macedonia. Italian Cooperation has prepared a data base regarding the age, status and quality of medical equipment in the hospitals, avoiding smaller ambulantas.

At the end Dr. Profili informed about the meeting organized by ECHO on 28 December 2001 on which list of priorities for reconstruction was made. This list should be a kind of guideline for the future donors in order health facilities which are in worst condition to be reconstructed. The list was delivered to the participants of the meeting and it was noticed that some data regarding condition of some ambulantas are not correct and should be checked.
